Leeds United Football Club is a professional football club based in the northern city of Leeds. They have won many domestic titles and trophies, including two English Premier League titles (1969-70 and 2002-03) and one runner-up in 1974 and 1992 against Bayern Munich. They also successfully defended their FA Cup title at Wembley against Arsenal a year ago, in April 2016, when they had to borrow club legend Tony Yeboah for much of the game in added time before finally tying with prevailed 1-0, largely because goalkeeper Paddy Kenny made some fantastic saves.

At international level, Leeds have twice won the Fairs Cup - a precursor to the UEFA Cup. In 1968 they won for the first time against Ferencvaros Budapest (1-0 and 0-0) and four years later in an epic final against Juve 2-2 (see below). They also made it to another final: they lost to AC Milan under Carlo Tuscan in the 1973 season. I was very upset because not only did we make history by winning just one game from our second last season Premier League titles were gone, but now another FA trophy is being talked about: the European Cup Winners' Cup!

Yorkshire's most powerful club, Leeds United, reached the 1975 European Cup final. After a narrow 2-1 defeat by FC Barcelona and trailing 1-0 thanks to Gerd Müller's heroism (some call it 'a work of art'), Bayern Munich triumphed with a Franz Roth goal in extra time!
