Elche Club de Fútbol is a Spanish football club from Elche. The club was founded on January 10, 1923 as "El sharing" and changed its name to EDF when it was promoted to the Tercera División six years later, in 1934. This was one of the promotions up until 1939 where conflict arose because the club won promotion just two points clear of Ontinyent CF, leading to them changing their name again after the end of World War II but not before becoming a "o" added, which at least symbolizes how much things have changed since then!
