It has a capacity of 36,722. The stadium Ciro Vigorito, originally known as Stadio Santa Colomba, officially opened on September 9th 1979. It has a capacity of 36,722. After completion, the stadium could hold up to 25,000 spectators, but in the past it has had a progressively smaller capacity because of safety reasons: first it held 18,500 and then sloped gradually down to around 12,000 over time.

In 2010, the stadium was renamed Stadio Ciro Vigorito in memory of club director Ciro Vigorito.

This was done in order to meet the requirements of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and to ensure that Benevento would continue to play in the top flight. In 2017, after promotion to Serie A, upgrades were made to Benevento's stadium with the intention of increasing capacity to over 17,000 again. How to get to Stadio Ciro Vigorito

The Stadio Ciro Vigorito is located in the south of Benevento and can be reached within roughly 30 minutes by walking from the city centre. Benevento's main railway station is located north of the city's historic center. A few direct trains a day connect Rome with Benevento. The journey takes just under 2 hours.

From Naples, the change required at Caserta is more distant than Rome. The journey there takes around 2 hours. There are regional trains from Salerno that also stop at Benevento Porta Rufina station, which is closer to the stadium, approximately 15 minutes walking.
