History and description

The Perth Oval, also known as the HBF Park, was built in 1910 to serve as an Australian football ground. Soccer had been played at the site, known as Loton?s Paddock, before. The stadium was oval-shaped and apart from being the home of East Perth football club it also hosted cricket and the odd soccer match. A new grandstand was built in 1956.

In 1995, Perth Oval became the home of newly formed Perth Glory, however the oval shape of the stadium proved ill-suited for soccer. Consequently, in 1999, plans were made to redevelop the stadium to a rectangular shape. The redevelopment project commenced in 2003 and was completed one year later.

Perth Oval has had various sponsorships named over the years, including Members Equity Stadium, ME Bank Stadium, nib Stadium, and finally since 2019 HBF Park.

How to get to HBF Park

The park is located just north of Perth's Central Business District, about a kilometer away from Perth railway station. The stadium can easily be walked to from most central destinations in and around Perth?s CBD. The walk will take 15 to 30 minutes at most.

While the Stadium can easily be walked to from Perth Station, Claisebrook station is closer to the Stadium, a few minutes' walk away. Claisebrook is on the Midland and Armadale & Thornlie commuter rail lines, which connect the CBD with the western and south-western suburbs. Trains run very frequent. East Perth Station and McIver Station are also at close walking distance of nib Stadium.

Walk down Lord Street to University Avenue and take the bus there.

Tickets for Perth Glory games can be bought online through Ticketmaster. Prices for tickets typically range from AU$ 30.00 for a general admission seat and range to AU$ 70.00 for an upper-tier seat at the main stand.
