AS Monaco

AS Monaco is a football club that has played in the French league system since its inception. He is not affiliated with the Monegasque authorities and instead plays on behalf of France; membership is achieved through qualifying rounds between the individual regional associations of the FFF (CFA).

With seven league titles in Ligue 1 and five cup successes, Monaco has been one of the most successful clubs in France for many years. At European level, they reached the 2004 UEFA Champions League final but lost 3-0 to FC Porto on 26 May 2005 at their stadium in Gelsenkirchen after an unexpected fan made it onto the pitch at half-time!

After 34 years of uninterrupted Ligue 1 affiliation, the ASM only played a single season at the bottom when they finished 18th and were relegated. The club found a new investor in Russian billionaire Rybolovlev, who bought 66.67% of the shares from Société Anonyme Sportive Professionnelle (SASP) to take over the presidency on December 12, 2011 via a corporation. Just two months after investment approval was initialed between the two parties on September 9, 2010, Rybolovlev was appointed unconditional president for 15 years - and earlier this year extended until 2020 despite financial problems in both sporting and economic terms.

The remaining third remains with the association to represent its interests. In 2013 they took first place in Ligue 2! The Principality's members never miss home games; Prince Albert II is undoubtedly one of the supporters. You can find more pages about AS Monaco here.
