FC Cadiz

Cádiz Club de Fútbol, short FC Cádiz, is a Spanish football club from the region of Andalusia. The Yellow-Blues were founded in 1910 by José Rivera y Lora and after one season in the Primera Division were relegated to the Segunda Division where they tried for 9 years.

Every year, FC Cádiz organizes the Trofeo Ramón de Carranza tournament, which is held in August. The cup and the stadium bear his name - former mayor of the city of Cadiz! This event is followed with great interest by the Spanish public because it takes place just before the start of the two La Liga seasons and the Segunda División play-offs that begin at the end of August. We've been hosting these sporting events since 1955 when they started with just four teams; today the finalists are contenders from all over Spain looking to win the golden ticket to next season's big league.

The end of the tournament is always a big celebration, to which people travel from near and far. This year's finale will be no different, culminating in a nighttime funfair at Playa Victoria on the Cadiz coast! FC Cádiz has hosted the event since its inception - having won it seven times (1981, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1993, 1994, 2006).
