History and description

BMO Field was built to provide Toronto FC with a soccer-specific home and to serve as the flagship venue of the 2007 U-20 FIFA World Cup. The stadium was Canada's first soccer-specific stadium. The field has a seating capacity of 18,387. The BMO Field football field opened on April 28th 2007 with a Toronto FC league match against the Kansas City Wizards. The stadium has a seating capacity of 18,387 people.

The stadium underwent a large redevelopment in 2014-16, which included the construction of an extra tier over the East Stand, additional hospitality facilities, and the erection of a roof over the entire stadium. The expansion raised capacity with 8,400 seats to a total of 30,000 seats. The cost of this expansion was CAD 120 million.

Just wanted to let you know that the Lakeshore West trains in your review now run every 30 minutes to and from the Exhibition station.

Overall, I have found that BMO Field is a good place to watch a match. The atmosphere is always enthusiastic and the fans are generally friendly. However, I have never had any problems with bringing my young son to games. The club needs some work, though.
